Legacy is defined as any outdated computer code. In essence, any system that is out of date and needs replacing.

As soon as a new piece of software is created, it starts its journey to legacy. The most concerning aspects of this are that as the original architects of that software drift away, the risk to your organisation rises. Poorly documented code, code that has had many bits added to it – all represent a very meaningful cost to an organisation and business risk.

If that isn’t enough, companies of all size are struggling to have IT keep up with the growing demands made by the business. Legacy software just accentuates this challenge.

So what are the options?
